TAX SERVICES
Kathryn has extensive experience in tax, which includes tax preparation, consulting, and resolution services for a variety of businesses and individuals. Tax return preparation is performed beyond by rote, with an eye toward identifying tax savings opportunities. Her goal is to provide tax services that balance the cost versus benefit of the tax positions ultimately taken. She makes choices that operate within the boundaries of the tax laws, but pushes those boundaries as needed and available to benefit her clients. She considers the overall big picture that involves both the taxpayers' as well as the taxing jurisdictions' goals and
resources. Kathryn stays current on tax news and changes through self-study, as well as formal continuing professional education. Your tax work will be handled by Kathryn herself, so nothing gets lost in the delegation process that bigger firms have, and Kathryn remains very accessible to her clients. Our overall goal is to keep clients out of "tax trouble", but at the least tax cost. Kathryn Bruns CPA has the necessary expertise to do so.
BOOKKEEPING/ACCOUNTING
Kathryn offers small business clients year-round accounting services that eliminates the need for a separate bookkeeper and CPA. She keeps the books with the future tax return in mind, as a CPA with knowledge of both accounting rules and tax rules. Other related services may include payroll, sales tax and property tax in cases where it is deemed a necessary accessory service to the accounting services. When you hire Kathryn Bruns CPA to handle your books, you are forming a partnership with Kathryn herself, and this enables the client to focus their attention on operating their business. Kathryn uses Quickbooks on-line for year-round accounting services.

For businesses that are in the position to or desire to keep the bookkeeping function in-house, Kathryn offers bookkeeping reviews, clean-ups and/or training. These consulting services are generally available from May 15 through December 15.

PROJECT ACCOUNTING
Project accounting relates to budgeting and/or bookkeeping for a specific event or project. Kathryn can help you stay on track by making sure you know where you stand financially, ensures you don't spend more than you can, and helps you make adjustments as needed. In addition, for someone pursuing a business purchase and beginning the due diligence process, Kathryn can review the seller's tax returns and supporting financial records. This will help buyers have confidence in the numbers that the seller is presenting, which is key information needed to ensure a fair price is ultimately paid. Kathryn can help you with any projects that require tax and accounting expertise.
STATE TAX SOLUTIONS
®
Kathryn has experience in all aspects of state income and franchise tax. Her expertise can be utilized by the largest Fortune 500 companies with the most complex state tax profiles, or by smaller companies with a simpler state tax footprint. She can help enhance the function so that it can be run as efficiently as possible, or she can analyze the function to see if there are tax savings opportunities available. Kathryn can also periodically maintain the function and provide support as needed. For more specific project information, click here.
OTHER RELATED SERVICES
We can partner with financial advisors/planners to help serve their clients, ensuring that any current tax projections do not run counter to the financial plan's long-term cash flow and estate planning goals. Please note that we believe that "tax planning" is one component of the broader financial planning work and should not be considered alone by a CPA who is not also the long-term wealth/financial/investment advisor.

We also offer private consulting sessions on topics that relate to financial independence and responsibility. These sessions are perfect for college students, newly independent adults, and anyone who feels that they do not have a solid handle on their finances, including tax implications within that context.
